Pismo Beach Dunes - Family nature scavenger hunt

Sometimes you have to make your own fun. We decided to take a regular hiking route and make it a bit more fun by creating a nature scavenger hunt in the Pismo Beach Dunes. I wrote down some items the kids had to find on paper, grabbed a couple of containers with lids, and we headed out.

Eldwayen Ocean Park and Beach Access

 View Park Details

Eldwayen is where we wound up first. The beaches although separate from all the other areas, don't seem to have individual names.

It has several BBQ areas and is dog friendly as long as the dog is on a leash. There are no restrooms here, so plan accordingly. On this trip we brought our lunch and ate at the picnic tables. It was a little breezy so we had to bring out the light jackets. I think it's a cool little park when you want to visit the ocean, but don't want to deal with the crowds.
