Nothing beats free, especially with the cost of most things on the rise. The added bonus about this day is getting to be around the rest of our brother and sister veterans for a day.
I have to say, one of the best deals anywhere for Veterans is the free entree, with salad or soup at the Olive Garden. The location in San Luis Obispo is usually pretty busy, but well worth it. The staff are exceptionally nice, the food great, and atmosphere fantastic. They go above and beyond to make the experience great for everyone.
For example they ran out of lasagna, and the manager actually came out to apologize and offered a great substitution. Seriously you can't argue with free, but it was a great gesture. We'll definitely return. Any time a business supports our troops and veterans they have our support.
We also picked up our free cup of coffee at Starbucks. I won't get into the recent hype, but I'll post the photos and you decide for yourself. BTW thanks Starbucks!
This was the substitution for the lasagna. Seriously, how could you argue with this. Thanks again Olive Garden and Staff at the San Luis Obispo location, you rock.
Mayra's Chicken Parmesan and Spaghetti.
This was pretty cool. Not only could you play games at the table (small fee), but when the meal was over this was how you paid, way simple and beat standing in line hands down.
Read about our visits to local attractions in and around Pismo Beach California and up and down the beautiful California Central Coast.
Enough said. Thanks Starbucks.
